Merry Christmas!!
I so love Christmas- for all the reasons of it being made special in my family growing up, and the visits with friends and family, the tree (a Charlie Brown model this year), the lights, the food, the caroling, and so much more. But most of all, for the celebration of the birth of our rescuer, Jesus. As the carol "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" says: "...peace on earth and mercy mild, God and sinners reconciled...".
Other news- I can be heard singing on the "12 Days of Christmas" spot for the GMC Sierra, and a spot for the Mattel "Snow White's Cottage".
Gear heads- I made a transition this year to the new generation iMac from a Mac tower. and this meant going from a Pci to a firewire interface. After a LOT of research, I decided to use a Motu 828 MKiii for my interface, but NOT for conversion. That job is being done by a Lucid 88192, and I am really pleased with the quality of the A/D and D/A conversion using the Lucid. This converter is used a lot by post houses, but not so much by recording artists, and I think it is a real sleeper. The reason for this is probably that the Lucid is not an interface- so one does have to use a separate interface (and the Motu box has 2 8-channel banks of ADAT in and out, so it pairs nicely with the Lucid). But the sound is terrific. And it's made in the USA, which I love.
So, more news after the 1st, but for now, a most Merry Christmas to you, and may God bless and keep you in the New Year.
